Park Hyatt Hotel

In April 2017, Ji Yutang completed the latest upgrade of Park Hyatt's lobby and 216 guest rooms in Washington. In fact, this is not the first time Ji Yutang has done it. In 2006, he carried out a complete redesign of the interior of this luxurious building.

Based on the inspiration of American culture, which is modern and advocates personal values, he combines the regional symbols represented by cherry blossoms to interpret space, creating a kind of cultural belonging to the ground and the freedom that the soul yearns.

For Washington, cherry blossoms are not only the first news of an exciting and joyful spring after a bleak winter, but also a symbol of peace. The cherry blossoms on the tidal lake were donated by Japan 100 years ago. They were piled up and layer by layer, like a sea of clouds. Under the sunrise, they were red and colorful......

Ji Yutang said, "My concept is to blend a vibrant and attractive modernism with American style. For today's travelers, Washington is full of modernity, and the typical American is used to its fashion and history. Park Hyatt, on the other hand, connects visitors to Washington's cultural heritage and urban history, restoring the past and taking on the present."

The hotel lobby

The entrance to the lobby is made of six transparent glass sculptures on two sides, and the cherry tree is the absolute theme here. The pattern is a cherry tree hybrid of seven different images. The bark of the tree is opaque, and the translucency of the two-color pink flowers forms a sense of hierarchy. The penetration of three-dimensional graphics makes it visually shocking like a sculpture.

The famous American writer Grant-Hayes once said: "No other place will be like living space, by the use of the color of the huge impact", in her theory, the color is the most dynamic design of the key elements, its use will directly affect the quality of design.

The remodeled guest rooms are inspired by the colors of the bright blooming season in Washington, D. C., and the designer uses a skillful approach to embody the dazzling and rich wood tones and the beauty and charm of custom glass by photographic glass artist Amanda Weil.

Amanda's glass products can always be found inadvertently in luxury rooms and junior suites, such as those inlaid with cherry blossom glass art on the table in the room. During the year, no matter when you stay in the hotel, you will feel the spring brought by this decorative effect.

In addition, the vibrant denim blue has also become the guest of honor on the walls of the guest room. This is a wallpaper made of 100 percent natural plant fiber (grass cloth) as the main material. It is matched with the custom-made plaid wool carpet and walnut wood big bed. In addition, it is more skillful and leisurely connected with nature and residence.

Deluxe rooms and junior suites are equipped with custom-made recliners and soft chairs. The back and armrests are wrapped in leather. Set off by Weil's cherry blossom glass art, the vigorous enthusiasm of life is more prominent.

The upgraded guestroom style is a natural extension of the hotel's understated luxury lifestyle. The gray and black floor tiles are stitched in an orderly manner, emitting a sense of freedom and rhythm, reflecting the designer's delicate feeling of space and the pure pursuit of nature.
